It was a definite up and down nail-biting scenario, to be sure. First message was to say we were 1 goal up but Chester were also winning, so not good for us. Then Salisbury equalised and we were back on course. Celebrations were short-lived when told Chester had retaken the lead and all appeared lost when Aldershot also scored. It was doom and gloom in the hotel lounge even when Salisbury did their best to help us by scoring an equaliser yet again but only minutes later a mighty cheer when Mike Rankine settled the issue, to our joy and amazement. What a time to be away on holiday although I’m not sure I could have handled listening to a full broadcast and would certainly have been a nervous wreck on the terraces. An amazing performance indeed.
